Contact (vCard) QR code generator

Make a QR code that saves your name, phone, email and company straight into someone's contacts. Free, no sign-up, works with iPhone and Android cameras.

The short answer

A vCard QR code holds your contact details in the standard vCard format. When someone scans it with their phone camera, the phone offers to save you as a contact, with your name, number, email and company filled in. It saves people from typing your number wrongly. The code is made in your browser and nothing is stored on our servers.

How to use it

1. Enter your full name and mobile number with the country code, such as +91.

2. Add email, company, role and website if you want them saved too.

3. Scan the preview with your own phone and check that every field appears correctly.

4. Download PNG for printing or sharing, or SVG for designers.

Where to use a contact QR code

On the back of paper visiting cards. On name badges at conferences and trade fairs. On stall banners and standees. On the last slide of a presentation. On delivery parcels, so customers can save your number for the next order. On a clinic or shop counter, so customers save the official number instead of searching online.

How it works on iPhone and Android

On iPhone, open the Camera, point at the code and tap the contact banner, then Create New Contact. On most Android phones, the camera or Google Lens shows 'Add contact'. Older phones may need a QR scanner app. Your details are saved only when the person confirms.

Tips for a code that scans well

Fewer details make a simpler code. Name, phone and email are enough for most people; add company and website if you need them. A long address makes the code dense, so print it larger. Print at least 2.5 cm wide on a visiting card. Keep the white border.

The limits of a vCard QR

The details are fixed inside the code. If you change your number, everyone who scans an old card gets the old number, and you need to reprint. There is also no record of who scanned it.

A changeable alternative

An Inditap page has a Save contact button that works the same way, but you can update your details anytime and the link stays the same. Your page also holds WhatsApp, location, UPI and social links, and shows how many people opened it. An NFC card opens it with a tap, with a QR code on the back as backup.

Questions people ask

Does a vCard QR code work on iPhone?

Yes. The iPhone camera reads it and shows an option to add the contact.

Does it work on Android?

Yes, with the camera app or Google Lens on most phones from recent years.

Does a vCard QR code need internet?

No. The details are inside the code, so it can be scanned and saved without internet.

How many details can I add?

Name, phone, email, company, role, website and address fit well. More text makes the code denser, so print it larger.

Can I change the details after printing?

No. The details are fixed in the code. Use an Inditap page link if you want details you can change later.

What is the difference between a vCard QR and a link QR?

A vCard QR saves contact details directly. A link QR opens a web page, which can show much more, such as WhatsApp, maps and UPI, and can be updated.

Is my information stored?

No. The code is made in your browser and we do not keep what you type.

Can I put this QR on my visiting card?

Yes. Download the SVG and give it to your printer, and print it at least 2.5 cm wide.
